Confounding our enemies for 2 years

There is nothing nobler or more admirable than when two people who see eye to eye keep house as man and wife, confounding their enemies and delighting their friends.
-- Homer, Odyssey, ninth century B.C.
Chris and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary this week.

Seems just like yesterday that our dearest 80 friends gathered around us on a sweltering Cancun beach and braved the humidity, our sappy vows, and a mediocre but enthusiastic Mariachi band. It was the best and most beautiful day of my life.

We've been so fortunate to have great friends throughout our lives and our relationship. Maybe it's just summer's increased sense of leisure, our new house's increased square footage, or Chris' inherent charisma--we've been seeing a lot more of them lately. It seems like just a swirl of social activity of late. And I'm grateful.

There's something so joyous about looking back on that wonderful day, and seeing these same familiar faces. We are growing older together, always surrounded by our favorite people.

What a wonderful way to live.
(Sidenote: I would highly recommend a destination wedding at an all-inclusive resort with numerous and excellent buffets, particularly if they have several quality ice cream stations. If that's your thing.)
