The final excuse: Our own Anthrolife

Hi bloggie friends,

I've been holding this secret in for a while, but it's time you knew. The real reason why I haven't been blogging on a regular respectable basis is because of debilitating exhaustion and overwhelming nausea in the last 3 months.

That's right, I'm pregnant. We're due 1/11/11 and both very excited.

As the author of Anthrolife, with its small but esteemed readership, I feel a great deal of remorse and guilt for not going to Anthro stores. I love my blog. I love the clothes/housewares, I love visiting the stores, trying on clothes and hearing back from you all.

But I have to tell you--the very Volcano candle scent that I used to delight in, sniff ecsatically--now causes me to retch and lurch in a most-unladylike fashion.

And I love Anthro much too much to dry heave within its rustic oak doors.

So, please forgive my slow (and store-less) posting. Nowadays, I'm most likely asleep, dry heaving in the corner, or trying gamely to button my pants.

Love,
Shelia

  1. Shiela!! Congrats! Congrats! Of course, I'll miss your posts, but we'll all be here when you are able to post, even if intermittently. Does this mean we'll get baby Anthro reviews around the holidays. I think that's the only time Anthro has kids clothes. Congrats again to you and family!

I had to laugh at you not wanting to go to Anthro because the smell of the candles now makes you want to wretch :-(

  4. Congrats! I totally understand the smell sensitivity, I still can't smell certain things without wanting to hurl and my daughter is 16 months old now! Don't worry, it does get much better. I was nauseated and sick the first 3 months but after that it was lovely up until the last month when you just feel HUGE. Good luck!

  5. Congratulations! What wonderful news! I've had 2 and with both I was nauseous for the first 3 months and could smell anything which made me sick! And it's not morning sickness...it's all day sickness! I know how you feel, but it does pass and you start to feel better and enjoy the pregnancy! Well, again, congrats and now you can look forward to shopping for maternity clothes.

  6. Thank you, girls. You're all so kind and lovely.
Cat--I DEFINITELY will have to look for baby clothes come holidays. I intend to clamor for more baby anthro, too!

Sara and Gemma--isn't it CRAZY that it's called "morning sickness"? WHICH MORON named it that, I'd like to know. Well, it's getting better already, and I plan on being the most fashionable pregnant woman waddling around.

  7. Congrats! So funny about the scents. I had major problems with two of my favorite foods' scents -- tomatoes and oranges. Couldn't go near them the entire pregnancy. I'm sure you'll be feeling wonderfully glow-y very soon!

  10. Congrats, Sheila! I have sooo been there and it will get better. I used to carry a piece of lemon in a ziploc in case I came across any offending smells! A happy & healthy pregnancy to you! Hugs!
