Outfit of the NIght--Vegas, Day 3--FINALLY!

Let me just start by saying this: the bathroom in our hotel room was bigger than our kitchen at home. I could have done a high-kick in the shower (if I were physically capable). It was just a thing of beauty and a joy forever.

This dress is 15 years old and started out as an Amish-appropriate, V-neck, ankle length that I kicked around in college. I think I got it on sale for about 8 bucks at Marshall's.

Project Runaway: A few years ago, I chopped off one of the sleeves, ran a hem around the raw edge, made the remaining sleeve into a cap, and shortened it to the knee. The fabric and color are very forgiving. It's a thick polyblend and has about 2% rayon.

I wear it usually at night, which also helps to hide gross errors.

Our last supper, at Michael Minna, Belagio. They made root beer floats with sasparilla sorbet and hand-rolled chocolate straws. INSANELY good. And the cookies weren't half bad either.

Bellagio's many pools. On a 108 degree day. Peaceful and Grecian. Except for the hundreds of rowdy Americans, mostly non-Grecian.

The opening curtain at Barry Manilow.
Don't mock. It was awesome.
But yes. We were the youngest people there by at least a 30 year margin.

Totally thought they were going to bust out in a conga line when he started "Copacobana." That is indeed a glowstick in my hand.

I think the woman next to me thought I was getting out of hand with the ol' stick and was considering beating me down with her walker. Not kidding!

Viva Las Vegas!

  1. How in the world did you do that with your hair? It is kind of awesome and I kind of want to copy it.

Looks like you had a rad time in Vegas - oh I wish I were there (except maybe in Dec or Jan)!
