Lust Item: Creased Swirls and Fashion Mama

I HEART this top. Am going to sale stalk it and then POUNCE LIKE A NINJA! Oddly, it's only available online. Which will make stalking it easier? harder? More interesting for shiz.
Creased Swirls Corset Top, for a mere $88.
Who cares that I could either buy THIS or a full size stroller that I could use for a year. It's just so damn beautiful.

And, randomly. Got to meet Kathy Ireland a few months ago at one of her charity events that I did a presentation for. Um, this woman has had 3 children and is in her late LATE 40's, and her tushy is still a thing of beauty.

I'm BOUND and determined to be just a fraction of glam, fitness, and elegance...someday. Right now, just trying to stay awake past 8:30 pm. And to get outside at least twice a week.

Thanks so much to all of you for your kind wishes and congratulations regarding our new little addition. Avery is doing well, eating us out of house and home. And snorting, grunting, and expressing herself through various other means. She has been keeping us up late at night, but we're just so thrilled with her. The little stinker.

Parenthood is crazy. I will never again judge a haggard mom with a screaming baby on the plane. I will only offer to hold her baby and buy her a very strong drink.

Outfits of the Last Week--Mostly Casual Swaddles

Scooter has arrived a little early. We had to have an unexpected C-section, which was frightening, but it was over quickly. And suddenly, our world has turned upside down. Her name is Avery.
Seven pounds, 7 oz, 19 inches.

We went home 2 days ago and it's been a mixture of exhaustion, chaos, flailing baby arms, midnight screaming, amid snuggles and joy with a healthy side of dirty diapers.

And relearning how to swaddle because someone's arm seems to always escape in the middle of the night, scratch herself and then wake up the entire neighborhood with her piteous wails. When we're actually awake and alert, we are really enjoying parenthood.

Can't wait to try on her Anthrokids wear. Welcome, Avery!

OOTD and Countdown...

Happy New Year, friends!
Our best pals and family threw us a baby shower about a month ago. We had such a blast--what with the delectable food, onesie decoration contest, and all the hilarity that comes with lots of diverse friends. Our social worlds completely imploded.

Speaking of our friends, my friend Grace both planned the onesie decoration booth and then made the onesie below. The best part is that "Anthropologie" is mispelled.

I laughed for days...Scooter is going to wear that to YOU-KNOW-WHERE.

The best cake in LA--from Porto's. Light, fluffy, spongy, and you only have to stand in line for 5 hours to order it. Thanks, Jenny!
Dress: Old Navy
Necklace: Baidu necklace, Anthropologie
Tights: Anthropologie

Some of my best gal pals. Jenny, Grace, Shilpa, and Aimee.

Joanne is due 2 days after me. And she cooked the whole time. While I sat around and stuffed my face with Porto's cake. It was awesome.

Deb, who engineered everything (food, decorations, guest list) while balancing her very active 1-year old. And who organizes my kitchen cabinet FOR FUN. She's amazing.
We keep hoping she will quit her job (and her own family) and just move in with us.

The onesie booth. All of our creative friends and some nosey ones, too.

Amanda, my old roomie. Wearing her own Anthro sweater, circa '06.

Jen and me. She always looks so put together. See here, too.

Chris' biking buddy, Gerry and lovely girlfriend Amber. Yeah, he had just gone to get a mani-pedi with his sister for her birthday and decided to go with bright red, just for kicks. He was quite proud. And actually, the effect was stunning.

We're counting down to due date, this Tuesday (1/11/11). Hope Scooter comes on time and hope the sale is better than this week's...
I can't wait to have a waist again. And can't wait to meet Scooter...
