Scooter has arrived a little early. We had to have an unexpected C-section, which was frightening, but it was over quickly. And suddenly, our world has turned upside down. Her name is Avery.
Seven pounds, 7 oz, 19 inches.
We went home 2 days ago and it's been a mixture of exhaustion, chaos, flailing baby arms, midnight screaming, amid snuggles and joy with a healthy side of dirty diapers.
And relearning how to swaddle because someone's arm seems to always escape in the middle of the night, scratch herself and then wake up the entire neighborhood with her piteous wails. When we're actually awake and alert, we are really enjoying parenthood.
Can't wait to try on her Anthrokids wear. Welcome, Avery!
Congratulations! She's so gorgeous! Swaddling is a wonderful thing ...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girl! Enjoy her, it seems like yesterday my 9 and 6 year olds were that size.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! Welcome to the world, pretty girl! :)
ReplyDeleteShe's precious...and what a great name! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! She's beautiful! Enjoy every moment of new baby because she will grow really fast.
ReplyDeleteAww, how darling, welcome Avery! And congratulations to you Sheila! I'm so glad all ended well!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Sheila, new mommy! She's so darling! Love the name you chose, it was one of my choices as well. It will be a little hard the first few nights adjusting to the new schedule, but it only gets better (not that it's not good now). Just live every moment and definitely enjoy these moments. They really do go by fast!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! She is so precious! It will just get better and better, I promise!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Avery! What a beautiful baby! You are about to embark on a beautiful journey that truly gets better and better as you all grow together. Congratulations on a gorgeous little girl and enjoy this amazing time together.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! She is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! About the nail scratching problem. A lot of the baby cloth has that folded in kind of par at the end of the sleeve (not sure how to describe it, but it shape like a little pocket), it you turn the pocket inside out, it will cover their little hands like a little mitten. They are specially designed so their finger don't scratch their face.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, everyone. We are taking obnoxious amounts of pictures, as first time parents should. Trying to soak up every moment. Cheers for Avery!
ReplyDeleteYay for Avery! Congrats Shelia :) She is beautiful and looks a lot like you!
